It was alot of fun working with Felicity, and I really hope we can work together again in the future. Felicity came to me with a 57.46 10k and a 2.12 half marathon pb. As soon as I had spent time chatting over the phone I knew that I could help her as her training needed plenty of improving, so first of all we worked on her 10k pb. Felicity was typical of so many runners, her training lacked structure and her habitual pace was far too high. Although at first she found it tough to adjust, in the end she got to grips with my plan and things started to really improve. We trained for around 12 weeks and then Felicity went to the Putney 10k in 2019, I told her to trust herself and run with feel. It was tough for me to give her an exact pace to run to because her improvements had been so frequent during training. After the race I was delighted when Felicity called me to tell me she had run a 53.19, absolutely smashing her old pb by over 4 minutes!! So so awesome, I am not sure who was happier, myself or Felicity!!
After this we continued to train for the Wokingham half marathon in February 2020. By now Felicity was doing really well and was executing my sessions brilliantly. Again her progress in training was really good so I told her to run with feel and trust herself. By the end she ran a magnificent 2.03.04 demolishing her pb by almost 10 minutes!!
Working with Felicity was alot of fun and I hope we can work together again to break 50 mins for the 10k and 2 hours for the half. There is no doubt in my mind that she can do it with the right training.
