Myself and Paul have worked together many times over the last few years and it has always been alot of fun watching him progress. If you read my recent posts you will see that Paul ran an excellent 10k pb in London a few weeks back. However, this time Paul wanted to break the 19 minute barrier for a 5k. We decided on Battersea, a course known for its flat tarmac and good protection from the wind with all the trees.
Come race day on the 11th of February 2023 and still buzzing from his awesome London result just a few weeks ago Paul was blessed with good conditions. There was no wind and it was nice and cold, just how Paul likes it! I am very pleased to announce that Paul came home in an excellent 18 minutes and 56 seconds. An improvement of 20 seconds from the Clapham 5k back in early 2022. At this distance that is a big improvement and reflects his hard work and constant improvement over the last few years. I am now really excited for the Leicester Half Marathon later this month, keep reading my blog to see how Paul gets on!
