During the winter its a great idea to cross train to help keep you out of the cold. Swimming is a favourite of mine along with my indoor turbo trainer. Its can be really tough to motivate yourself to go out in the cold after work so if you can find an indoor activity to replace one or two of your weekly runs it can only be a good thing. I have also discovered that people who cross train on a regular basis when they are healthy are far more likley to cross train when they are injured. Plus cross training in the winter will help reduce the chance of picking up an injury. So next time the weather is nasty pop to your local pool or gym for a warm indoor training session.
