11 weeks ago I started working with Dan. He was very typical of many runners, doing all of his runs way too fast and constantly breaking down with injury. Dan was stuck in a vicious cycle that he could not get out of. Fortunately Dan found me through the internet and after a good chat I devised a plan to help him break the sub 50 10k barrier and in turn smash his pb. We decided to target the Goodwood 10k on the 25th of April 21.
In the early days Dan struggled to adapt to my style of training. However, after around 6 weeks he really started to find his feet and things started to change. For the first time ever Dan was able to absorb consistent weekly volume with out breaking down injured. I worked hard to train Dan's brain too, implementing sessions that built his confidence.
Come race day I am very happy to report that Dan ran a magnificent 47.37 pb, a full 3 minutes 33 seconds off his previous best. This is obviously an absolutely massive improvement in just 11 weeks, awesome!
We are now working towards a half marathon pb so I will report back in due course to let you know his progress, exciting times!
