Mark runs a new Half Marathon pb and breaks the 1.35 barrier.

Updated: May 2, 2021

You may have read that I was recently working with Mark on his 10k pb. As I said before we decided to target a sub 1.35.0 half marathon. We looked at a few events and decided that the best option was the Goodwood half on the 25th of April 21.

Marks biggest problem has always been running way too fast in training and in the early days he found it difficult to adapt to my sessions. However after his stunning 10k pb he knew he had to keep the faith in my style of training and stick with it.

After the race I waited for Mark to come in and I was very excited because I knew from watching that he was on for great time. And so it proved as he crossed the line in a superb 1.33.30, smashing his previous pb by 3 minutes and 47 seconds! And in doing so he demolished the sub 1.35 barrier. Such a huge improvement and it just shows how well people can run once they get some proper training under their belt.

Working with Mark has been brilliant and I am always sad when a campaign comes to an end. However I really hope we can team up again in the future, it has been an awesome journey.
