Massive Half Marathon pb for Sian!

Updated: Apr 4, 2022

Sian contacted me in the autumn of 2021 with a view to a good time at Manchester Marathon on the 3rd of April 2022. Prior to this she also wanted a pb for the half marathon at Wokingham on the 27th of Feb 2022.

We agreed to get training straight away and I devised a plan to build Sian's fitness whilst protecting her from injury as best I could. It quickly became apparent that Sian is a quality athlete, her ability to absorb volume, execute training sessions and train consistently were top drawer, I could not fault her at any point.

After 13 weeks of quality training it was time for the Wokingham Half Marathon. I knew from her stats in training that Sian was capable of a massive pb but until an athlete goes out and actually does it you never really know for sure. Her pb from the Oxford Half Marathon in 2021 stood at 1 hour 54 minutes and 49 seconds. In training we had been pacing at 8 minutes 20 seconds per mile and I am very pleased to announce that Sian came home in a stunning 1 hour 48 minutes and 54 seconds! This is a full 5 minutes and 55 seconds faster than her old pb which she had set only set a matter of months before! Sian had also executed the race almost exactly as I had asked her to with an average of 8 minutes and 18 seconds per mile, so cool!

We are currently continuing to train for the Manchester Marathon in April so please keep checking out my website for further updates.
