You may have read that I have been working with Paul for sometime now. Back in December Paul ran a new half marathon pb of 1.34.09 at the Goodwood running festival. Shortly after that race we decided to carry on and try and break the 1.30.0 half marathon barrier at Goodwood on the 25th of April 2021. We both knew it was tough thing to do, it is the first time a runner has to complete a half marathon and run on average inside 7.00 mm, this is really really tough especially on a runners brain.
After another excellent training campaign it came to race day and I can report that Paul ran an incredible 1.28.55!! This takes over 5 minutes off his previous pb and only 7/8 months ago Paul was running half marathons in around 1.37.0. What an incredible story and I am very proud of Paul achievements. The usually very reserved Paul could not stop smiling which really made me laugh!
We are now working towards the sub 40 minute 10k, watch this space!!
