Woodland Woggle 23rd May 21.

Updated: Nov 18, 2021

You may have seen that I have been training Paul for sometime now and his improvement has been huge. So much so that lately he has been bantering with me about how he could beat me in a race. So with that in mind I challenged him to a race at the annual Woodland Woggle, a really cool cross country 10k with lots of hills and various different surfaces.I knew that due to Paul's size he would have an advantage on the hills but I figured I could still beat him with my superior flat speed.

We had a close battle and despite being ahead of Paul for the entire race he still finished only 35 seconds back! I will admit, he did have me worried because on the hills (I am 80kg) Paul was taking plenty of ground off me.

Afterwards we enjoyed a well deserved coffee and laughed about how he has still not beaten me, but I am well aware that in the near future it is going to be difficult to hold him off! Later the results were published and we had finished a fine 9th and 10th overall, which was great and a real confidence boost for me after some really bad form lately.

This is another example of Paul's incredible improvement and only a year ago Paul could not of dreamed of finishing any where near me. In just a few weeks time Paul goes for the big sub 40 10k, I am very excited because I know he has a great chance, watch this space.
